All about m week- My favorite things

Today we talked about our favorite things. I asked each child what their 4 favorite things are.

Welcome Daniel!

A big hello to our new friend Daniel. Daniel will be joining us on Thursdays. 

 Colby is very excited to have a new friend his size :) I can tell already that they are going to be best buds! 

All about me week- Family

Today we talked about our familys. We talked about how our families are different and how they are alike. 

We talked about the different thing we like to do as a family.

Today we welcomed a new friend. Nathan. He will be joining us full time! The kids were very excited to have a new friend! He jumped into our routine right away! And was having a blast with all the toys in no time! 

All about me week- Dolls

Today we talked about how we are all alike and how we are different. We made paper dolls to look like us! They had a good time trying to make the colors to their outfits!

Safety Week-Car Seat Safety

Today we talked about being safe while in a car. We talked about how important it is to wear a seatbelt all the time. We talked about what seats are the safest for us. We also talked about reminding mommy and daddy to buckle up for safety. We practiced getting in and out of carseats and buckling up. 

We sang a safety song:

Safety belts, safety belts

wear them all the way.

Every time you are in the car

Every night and day, oh

Safety belts, safety belts wear them round your lap

Then before you start to ride everybody, SNAP!

and...

I like my seatbelt 

nice and snug

Around my hips

like a big bear hug

I make it click

to let the driver know

I am buckled up and ready to go! 

Safety Week-911

Today we talked about 911. We talked about when we should call and when we shouldn't. We also talked about what happens if we call for no reason. 

We practiced dialing our home phone numbers. 

Then we colored a phone and practiced calling home and 911 some more :)

Safety Week-Police

Today we talked about Policemen. We learned that they are here to keep us safe. And if we are ever lost we should look for a policeman to help us. We learned that the policemen use cars, trucks and motorcycles to help us. 

We colored a policeman coloring sheet. 

Safety Week-Fire

Today we talked about fire safety. We learned how to call 911 ONLY if there is a real emergency. We also learned about finding the safest way out if there is a fire. We learned how to STOP DROP and Roll. We talked all about firemen and how they are here to keep us safe. They put out fires and bring us to safety. We also talked about Sparky the fire dog. They really liked hearing his story. Then we colored Sparky.

Carnival Week- More Carnival Games

The weather this messed up what was planned for today. Hopefully we can get outside after nap to play our Backyardigans carnival games.

We did get to take turns with John's work in progress (The Mystery Machine for Nate's party). But we had strict orders that we could not take any pictures because he hasn't finished painting it yet. LOL. But they did have fun.

Zach and Lex brought in Carnival Games for Wii. The kids had a blast playing against each other! Then they all created their own games again. If only I could figure out the rules LOL!

We had such a busy morning that I completely forgot to take out the camera! We had a blast going around the room and trying out different toys to make our own carnival. They had "games" and "stands" all over the room. It was really cute. They also took turns playing each others games!
